trane-warner-logo.jpgTrane provides the best products in the heating and cooling industry, and they’ve recently been named the most trusted brand in HVAC systems. It’s no wonder, because their units can help you save money on your annual energy bill, which is an average of $2,300 per year.

Warner Service takes a deeper look into the company’s air conditioning units and heat pumps that will take your home’s cooling to the next level:

Testing

Before being sent to your home, Trane air conditioners are tested under the harshest, "natural" conditions in the Trane Compressor Test Lab in Tyler, Texas. This is so every product delivers “incredible comfort with incredible reliability,” according to the product brochure.

Additional features

Each Trane air conditioner comes with an all-aluminum Spine Fin™ coil, Climatuff® compressors, DuraTuff™ Rustproof Basepan, full-sided louvered panels, and a powder-paint finish. Each of these features is designed to resist corrosion, leaks, cracking, warping, rust, and signs of aging.

Note: The WeatherGuard II™ Top, which “provides unstoppable protection from the elements,” according to the company’s Twitter, is available for XL16 and XL18 heat pumps to add extra protection from the natural elements.

Other key features of the TruComfort XV18 and XV20i heat pumps include the Climatuff Variable Speed Inverter Compressor, ComfortLink II™ communications, and Nexia™ Control.

Best products

Our heating and cooling technicians have spent enough time with these A/C units to recognize which perform best. However, it all depends on your home’s design, location, and your overall preference. Here are a few of our favorites:

XV20i TruComfort™ Variable Speed: This unit is one of the industry’s most efficient variable speed air conditioners, performing up to 22 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) rating. XV18 TruComfort™ Variable Speed: “This variable speed air conditioning system is built to stand up to the toughest elements, while lowering your cooling costs for an all-around comfort experience,” according to the product page. It performs at up to 18 SEER.

XL18i: According to the product page, this unit offers two-stage cooling and its “design features [Trane’s] WeatherGuard™ II and the all-aluminum Spine Fin outdoor coil, making it a durable and efficient choice for your home.” Its cooling efficiency is also up to 18 SEER.

XL16i: With up to an 18 SEER rating, this A/C unit “offers flexible family comfort, with the ability to cool every room to the right temperature efficiently,” which means even your home’s unused rooms will be temperature-controlled without costing you more money.

XR17: This central air conditioning unit offers two-stage cooling technology that helps provide even cooling to every room in your home. With a SEER rating up to 18, this product meets “any outdoor climate conditions and prevent interior temperature swings,” according to Trane’s website.

XR16: This Trane air conditioner works as part of your home’s existing HVAC. It has a SEER rating of up to 17, making it an excellent choice for home comfort and energy-efficiency tax credits.

XR14: This central A/C unit offers up to a 16 SEER rating, which could substantially lower your energy bill costs.

XR13: This residential air conditioner’s SEER rating of up to 14.5 gives you and your family the ability to relax comfortably during hot Maryland summers.
