A blocked drain might seem like an easy plumbing issue to deal with, but if you fail to take immediate action, it could become very serious. And if the blocked drain is in your waste water’s path, you could be exposed to rather unpleasant and unsanitary conditions. Frequent blockages need to be identified and removed.

Other plumbing issues you can’t ignore include:

  • No Hot Water: You have your water heater to thank for warm showers and running the dishwasher or washing machine. If it isn’t adjusted properly or it malfunctions, cold showers can become a reality. Just like a clogged drain, this will continue to be a problem until a plumber comes to rectify the situation.
  • Leaky Water Heater: If there are puddles underneath the water heater, this is a sure sign that something is wrong with it. Have a plumber check it out to avoid water damage or a complete loss of hot water.
  • Drip, Drip, Drip: The irritating dripping of a faucet is usually an indication that something bad is on the horizon.
  • Toilet Won’t Stop Running: When you hear your toilet running, this tells you that your water bill is running as well. Usually, it’s the result of a broken or faulty component such as a valve, chain, or float. On the other hand, it could be a sign of something more extensive. Only a plumber can tell.
  • Faulty Garbage Disposal: If it’s malfunctioning or not working at all, have it checked by a plumber. If you ignore this warning, you could be in for the same unpleasant mess and nasty odors that come with a blocked drain.
